Community Training: June 23 5:00-700pm MST via Zoom

 

This 3 hour introductory training (2 hours live plus one 1:1 coaching session with toolkit) explores trauma-informed care (TIC) prinicples in the context of supporting young people and their families who are affected by the stress and stigma of a parent’s substance use. Participants will journey through core trauma-informed care principles, while reflecting on trauma responses common in high stress environemtns.  Using a relational and anti-oppressive approach that centres young people’s emotional needs and lived experiences, this workshop focuses on supporting participants to:

  • understand what trauma-informed care and its principles are

  • explore trauma in the context of the physical and emotional care needs of young people navigating systems

  • begin to implement TIC principles into their work with young people affected by the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use​.

 

Training includes: 

  • TIC toolkit

  • One 1:1 post session coaching session

  • Certificate of Completion

    A: Refunds are avalilable up until 1 week before the session (June 8), but will not be available after June 8, when the included toolkit will be sent out.  

    Q: Will the training be recorded? 

    A: Unfortunately, the training will not be recorded to protect the privacy of  particpants engaging in the sessions.
