Community Training: June 23 5:00-700pm MST via Zoom
This 3 hour introductory training (2 hours live plus one 1:1 coaching session with toolkit) explores trauma-informed care (TIC) prinicples in the context of supporting young people and their families who are affected by the stress and stigma of a parent’s substance use. Participants will journey through core trauma-informed care principles, while reflecting on trauma responses common in high stress environemtns. Using a relational and anti-oppressive approach that centres young people’s emotional needs and lived experiences, this workshop focuses on supporting participants to:
understand what trauma-informed care and its principles are
explore trauma in the context of the physical and emotional care needs of young people navigating systems
begin to implement TIC principles into their work with young people affected by the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use.

A: Refunds are avalilable up until 1 week before the session (June 8), but will not be available after June 8, when the included toolkit will be sent out.
Q: Will the training be recorded?
A: Unfortunately, the training will not be recorded to protect the privacy of particpants engaging in the sessions.
