Order a Starling's Hope Kits for young peers growing up with parental addiction. 

Our Hope Kits are available to *Alberta youth aged 5+ and their family caregivers, as a way for us to connect with young people who are growing up with the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use and decrease the stigma and shame they may feel. *Outside of Alberta? Feel free to fill out a form and we will let you know if we have capacity.

Each hope kit is thoughtfully created and packed by peers with lived experience to support connection, validation, reflection, and healing for young people impacted by the stress and stigma of a parent's substance use.​ It's also a way caregivers can connect with the young people in their life.

Steps to order a hope kit.

1.

Book a 1:1 caregiver session to pack the hope kit with a peer (this helps ensure everything in it is specific for the peer) or we will email to book it for you. 

2.

Explore our free virtual resources with your young person while waiting for your kit to arrive.

3.

Unpack your kit with the   young person and a video message for them

Peer‑led Connect Sessions

Our 1:1 and group peer sessions are a space for family caregivers to pack a free hope kit for a youth in your life, ask question, and get help navigating supports while caregiving for a youth 
...I have passed on copies of the grief mini journal to some of the youth. The feedback I've received from them has been overwhelmingly positive -  it was very validating, helpful for them to understand and organize their thoughts and feelings, and one youth remarked that her favourite thing about it was it allowed her to get into the nitty gritty. She said she can't talk to anyone about her mom's substance use...
