About the event

The Starlings R.I.S.E. program is designed as a launch pad to leadership through a unique blend of Reflection, Inspiration, Storytelling, and Empowerment, but it isn’t as formal as it sounds!

Built on a foundation of storytelling, the peer group will draw inspiration and validation from peer mentors and program participants, supporting participants to make meaning of their experiences. Through the power of storytelling, we connect deeply with others, finding strength and solidarity in our shared narratives. As we move through the program, we will build a strong sense of agency, empowering each other to take meaningful action in our lives and communities.

What can you expect?

-8 peer group learning sessions

-4 online learning modules

-2+ 1:1 peer mentorship sessions

Thanks for being here.

We are all a part of the village raising the next generation. How can you BEST contribute.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, and the traditional Treaty 7 territory and oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory. Finally, we remain committed to continue to learn about the truth regarding Colonialism and residential schools in Canada, and will actively work towards reconciliation while advocating for our government to do so as well.
