Pen Pal Peer Group
Use your lived experience to offer encouragement, hope, and connection through handwritten letters
Service Description
Our pen pal peer group is for peers ages 16+ who want to use their lived experience with parental substance use challenges to encourage and support younger people affected by parental substance use or related challenges. Through handwritten letters, artwork, creative projects, and messages of hope, mentors help remind young people that they are not alone and that healing, growth, and connection are possible. Mentors contribute letters and creative pieces for our Hope Kits, respond to letters from younger peers in our Pen Pal Program, and participate in occasional gatherings to write, create, and connect with fellow mentors. Whether you're sharing words of encouragement, reflecting on lessons you've learned, or creating artwork that inspires hope, your experiences can make a meaningful difference in another young person's life.
