Trauma-informed Care
Practical tools to create experiences of safety through everyday interactions.
Service Description
Creating a trauma-informed environment isn't enough if a young person doesn't experience it as safe. This interactive two-hour workshop moves beyond the foundations of trauma-informed care to explore how trauma, attachment, stigma, and intersecting life experiences shape trust, behaviour, and help-seeking. Through practical examples, discussion, and real-world scenarios, participants will strengthen their understanding of trauma-informed care while learning strategies they can apply immediately to create safer, more responsive interactions with youth and families. What you'll explore -What trauma-informed care looks like in everyday practice. -Why people experience safety differently. -Moving from 'What's wrong?' to 'What do you need?' -Practical communication strategies that strengthen trust and reduce the risk of re-traumatization.
